Green credentials finally made their way onto the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia calendar, but was it worth the wait…

After the first sustainable event on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia calendar took place last Thursday 10th April, you could visibly see the penny drop for the invitees. Gone were the images of hippie, dowdy clothing and confidently in its place were chic, vibrant designs. The Clean Cut founders Lisa Heinz and Carlie Ballard should definitely be proud.

International and local designers representing the best in sustainable fashion included, Kowtow(NZ), Desert Designs (Sydney), Lalesso (Kenya) and Goodone (UK). The scene was set for the ‘green’ runway and was perfected with hair and makeup by official sponsors LUSH.

It was a great climax to conclude fashion week, and raise awareness that sustainable fashion is not only kinder to the planet, but it is on trend too! The fabulous goodie bags included items from Camper, Eco store and LUSH cosmetics; highlighting further that fashion has a conscience.
